DHAKA (Web Desk) - Bangladesh's former top judge ABM Khairul Haque has been arrested in connection with a murder case.
Police detained the ex-chief justice at his residence and presented him before a Dhaka court, which later ordered his transfer to jail.
The case relates to the killing of a young man during a student protest last year.
Khairul Haque is one of 465 individuals named in the case, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina. The case was filed by a leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
The former chief justice is also facing charges in two other cases involving allegations of sedition and fraud.
