BERNE (Dunya News) – With New Zealand pulling out of the Pro Hockey League, a golden opportunity has knocked at Pakistan's door – but time is running out.
According to sources, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has given Pakistan until August 12 to confirm participation in the prestigious league. The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has already informed the federal government about the offer.
Officials say Pakistan's entry into the league hinges on government support, as playing home and away matches against top teams would require a hefty budget – around Rs700 million.

Without a green light from the authorities, Pakistan might miss the boat. If Pakistan turns down the offer, France will take the vacant spot in the league.
"This is a big chance for Pakistan hockey to get back in the game at the international level," a source said. "But we can't take the plunge without solid financial backing."
The clock is ticking, and fans are hoping the government steps up to help Pakistan reclaim its lost glory on the hockey field.
