(Web Desk) - Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah took to Instagram to voice her frustrations about harassment, media bullying, and exploitative practices in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, which she claims have led to trolling, mockery, and her being blacklisted.
The 25-year-old revisited a 2021 Bridal Couture Week incident where she appeared to stumble on the ramp with singer Shazia Manzoor.
Shah now alleges the fall was intentional, claiming Manzoor deliberately pulled her down. “She grabbed me and dragged me to the floor,” Shah said, sharing the video with followers.
She further accused Manzoor of repeatedly attempting to trip her during the event and later mocking her alongside TikTok star Jannat Mirza and host Juggan Kazim.
Shah recounted instances where directors questioned her “bad image” in meetings without any intention of casting her, asking, “If you don’t want to cast me, why call me to discuss my image?”
Addressing a 2023 report accusing her of assaulting a co-actor by throwing a cigarette, Shah denied the allegation, claiming the co-actor had pushed and slapped her first. “I was in shock,” she said, adding that the incident wasn’t captured on camera despite her request to review the footage.
Shah also spoke out about consent and boundaries in the industry, emphasizing, “I don’t allow anyone to touch me unless it’s part of the scene. You must ask for my consent first.” She believes her insistence on personal boundaries made her a target, with some producers aiming to push her out of the industry.
She said she is not doing more dramas because she any many other artists are not given payment on time
Recently, Alizeh has been speaking out more about problems in the entertainment industry.
Sometimes, she had to wait 3 to 4 months for her cheque, and she had to ask many times just to get her due money.
She added that she will only work where she feels respected.
Alizeh Shah, who first appeared in the movie Superstar and became popular after her role in Ehd e Wafa, has been in the spotlight for both her acting and the controversies around her.
