KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least nine people lost their lives and many others were injured in separate bus accidents in Sindh on Sunday.
In the first accidetn, six people were dead and 12 injured when a bus carrying picnickers from Orangi Town to Keenjhar Lake of Thatta fell into a ditch, Dunya News reported on Sunday.
Having being informed, police and rescue teams scrambled to the accident site and shifted the dead and injured to a nearby hospital.
It is reported that the passengers were heading to Keenjhar Lake for picnic when they met the accident. The bus had picked them from Orangi Town, Karachi.
Police were investigating and trying to know the exact cause of falling the bus into the ditch. The accident news spread a wave of shock to the people of Orangi Town, who gathered outside the houses of those who lost their lives in the accident.
In the second incident, a passenger bus en route from Karachi to Mansehra overturned on the National Highway near Tando Masti in Khairpur, leaving three people dead and over 25 injured.
Police stated that the bodies and injured were shifted to Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS).
The accident was attributed to overspeeding amid heavy rainfall.
Such highway accidents are frequent in Pakistan, often caused by driver negligence, overspeeding, and poor road or weather conditions.
