LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken a significant step to ensure the safety of women shopping for Eid.
Lady police squads have been deployed in various cities across Punjab to provide security for women and families in marketplaces.
In Okara, a special bicycle squad consisting of 50 female officers has been stationed, while motorcycle squads and foot patrols of female officers will also remain on duty.
These female officers will actively work to prevent harassment, snatching, and other crimes. The squads have already begun patrolling markets in Okara, Renala, and Depalpur.
Similarly, in Bhakkar, lady police officers are also playing a proactive role in ensuring the protection of women in shopping centres.
