QUETTA (Dunya News) - Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his unwavering commitment to addressing the province’s issues, stating that the premier is extending full support in this regard.
Speaking to the media, CM Bugti acknowledged the federal government’s allocation of mega projects for Balochistan, terming it a significant step toward the province’s development.
He further revealed that during meetings with federal ministers, consensus was reached on multiple issues, including the formulation of laws aimed at strengthening security forces in their operations.
"It is our duty to strengthen our security forces," Bugti asserted, adding that it was a positive development that key decisions concerning Balochistan were now being made in Quetta, with the federal leadership present in the provincial capital.
He emphasised that ministers had been given the mandate to ensure that all crucial decisions regarding Balochistan are taken within the province itself.
The chief minister disclosed that a detailed discussion was held on 47 key points, including law and order. It was also decided that meetings addressing the province’s issues, particularly those concerning federal departments, would be convened every two months.
Additionally, discussions were held on legislation, including matters pertaining to missing persons, he added.
Bugti also announced that the prime minister had approved a solar panel project for the province’s farmers, under which 70 percent of the cost would be borne by the federal government, while the Balochistan government would contribute the remaining 30 percent.
