ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi has decided to end the backlog and pendency of tax cases.
CJP Afridi chaired a session on clearing the pendency of tax cases in the apex court.
FBR chairman, attorney general, Senator Saleem and Mohsin Aziz attended the session.
A committee including Supreme Court Registrar, FBR officials and economic experts had been formed that would present suggestions to end the backlog of pending tax cases.
CJ expressed dismay over the pendency of 3,496 tax cases worth Rs97 billion in the Supreme Court.
