ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi will chair an important session of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) today. The SJC would review the complaints against judges and Election Commission members. It is the first session of SJC after taking charge of the office by CJP Afridi. Meanwhile, the Judicial Commission has also called the key meeting today which would also be chaired by CJP Afridi at 2pm. This would be the second meeting of the judicial commission after enactment of the 26th amendment and restructuring of the commission. According to sources, nominees for the constitutional benches in the Sindh High Court will be considered in the session.
JUDICAL COMMISSION
The JCP, chaired by (CJP) Yahya Afridi include Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Pakistan Bar Council representative Akhtar Hussain, Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, senior lawyer Farooq H Naek, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, and Roshan Khursheed Bhutto.
CONSTITUTIONAL BENCH
The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has appointed seven judges for the constitutional benches, with Justice Aminuddin Khan serving as its head.
The other members of the Judicial Commission include Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha A. Malik, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Musarrat Hilali and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
