ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The government on Thursday increased the perks and privileges for the judges of Supreme Court and high courts.
According to details, the house rent and judicial allowance were increased for the judges.
The house rent has been increased from Rs68,000 to Rs350,000 for the judges of apex court.
Similarly, the judicial allowance was increased from Rs428,000 to Rs1,168,000 for the judges of top court.
Meanwhile, the house rent for the judges of high courts has been increased from Rs65,000 to Rs350,000.
The judicial allowance for the judges of high courts were increased from Rs342,000 to Rs1,090,000.
A notification in this regard was also issued by the law ministry after the approval of acting president.

Earlier in June this year, the National Assembly had passed an amendment to raise the allowances of MNAs.
The amendment was moved by the PPP in the presence of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in National Assembly.
The travel allowance of parliamentarians was increased from Rs10 to 25 per kilometre.
The finance committee of NA was also empowered to increase the salaries and allowances of MNAs.
