GHIZER (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated a model village for flood victims in Ghizer, Gilgit-Baltistan.
During his visit, the prime minister distributed property documents to the residents who lost their homes in the 2022 floods.
The village, built on 110 kanal, features 62 eco-friendly homes equipped with clean water access, solar energy, a strong room, a kitchen, two bathrooms and two bedrooms.
PM Shehbaz directed those payments only be issued following third-party verification.
He also announced an increase in relief fund to Rs5.7 million for Qandeel, a girl who lost her family in the floods. He also called for immediate construction of school and dispensary with modern facilities in the village.
He was also briefed on the construction of the 216km Gilgit-Shandur Road, expected to complete by November 2025.
