ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The record for monsoon rains this year has been released, showing a significant increase in rainfall compared to previous years. From July 1 to September 1, rainfall across Pakistan was 24% higher than the average of the past 30 years.
During the monsoon season, more than 197 millimeters of rain was recorded nationwide.
Sindh experienced the highest rainfall, while Azad Jammu and Kashmir saw a 19% decrease in rainfall compared to the usual levels.
Between July 1 and September 1 this year, rainfall was 24% above the 30-year average. The total rainfall in Pakistan was 197.5 millimeters, 64% higher than normal.
In Punjab, 313.1 millimeters of rain fell, which was 58% above the average.
According to the data, Sindh received the most rainfall, with 130% more rain than usual, while Balochistan saw 119.2 millimeters of rain, which was 115% higher than the average.
