LAHORE (Dunya News) - A man gunned down his brother and two nephews to avenge murder of his son, Dunya News reported here on Saturday.
The deceased were going to a court when near Saggian Bridge they were ambushed.
Safdar and his sons Yasir and Nasir were attacked by four attackers on bikes.
In the attack, Safdar’s third son, Jafar, was also injured. He was shifted to Mayo Hospital.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said that the triple murder was an outcome of longstanding feud, adding suspect Abdul Ghafoor killed his brother and two nephews to avenge murder of his son Muhammad Afzal.
According to police, Abdul Ghafoor and his accomplice, identified as Usman, ambushed the family’s rickshaw, resulting in the fatal shooting.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken serious notice of the incident, expressing condolences to the bereaved family and ordering an urgent report from the CCPO.
She directed authorities to ensure swift action, vowing that the perpetrators would face justice.
IG Dr Usman Anwar has also called for a comprehensive investigation into the triple murder.
