Lahore at fourth spot in global air quality index

Under this measure, Section 144 will be enforced for any violator

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab’s capital, Lahore, has stood at the fourth position globally in term of Air Quality Index (AQI) improvement.

Lahore recorded an AQI of 180, placing it behind China’s capital, Beijing, which topped the list with an AQI of 201 and India’s Delhi which came second with an AQI of 188.

The Punjab Department of Environment has implemented a Green Lockdown in Lahore to control the rising levels of smog and air pollution. Under this measure, Section 144 will be enforced for any violator.

The lockdown measures have already been put in place in Shimla Hill area and surrounding neighbours in Lahore, banning activities that contribute to environmental pollution until November 4.
