ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Islamabad High Court has removed the objections on PTI founder Imran Khan’s bail plea in Toshakhana-II case.
IHC directed the registrar office to fix the case hearing on Monday.
IHC Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the case today while Ayesha Khalid, Shaheena Shahab and others representing Imran Khan appeared before the court.
Justice Aurangzeb inquired about the objections of the registrar on the plea. Counsel Ayesha Khalid stated that Imran Khan filed bail plea in the Toshakhana-II case.
Justice Miangul remarked that prior judgment on similar cases followed the principle of consistency. He added that the applicant was a male in this case.
Justice mentioned that Bushra Bibi granted bail as she was a woman and one application similar to this one was dismissed yesterday. Justice Aurangzeb pointed out an objection related to the date on the power of attorney which was signed in July, while the case action date was November.
Justice asked Advocate Shah Khawar for his assistance on this matter. Shah Khawar responded that it was routine practice to secure signatures on necessary documents including power of attorney when an applicant was detained in jail.
Imran Khan’s lawyer Shaheena Shahab requested the court issue notices on the bail plea. Justice Aurangzeb remarked that legal procedures would be followed.
After hearing arguments, the court removed the registrar office’s objections and directed to fix case hearing on Monday.
