LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has asserted the newly passed 26th amendment in the constitution was the positive step towards the right direction.
Talking to media in Lahore, Malik Ahmad stated that the amendment was needed as people including him had to await justice due to pendency of cases.
He also urged the representatives of bar associations to create a positive environment where they can’t ignore the matters while waiting for good things to happen.
He stressed that amendment in the constitution was the due right of Parliament. PM Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto and Fazlur Rehman deserved the honour for their role in the passage of amendment.
The government restored the true spirit of the Constitution of 1973 by making amendments, he insisted.
The Punjab Assembly speaker called for attention on the state of political stability across the country instead of trivial matters.
He asserted that he was expected to not take any party side being in the office of speaker.
