The judiciary was attacked through the constitutional amendment: Hafiz Naeem

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman to challenge the 26th constitutional amendment in the court.

He was talking to media in Lahore on Thursday.

He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was trapped in the constitutional amendment.

“The government passed the amendment through political maneuvering. The judiciary was attacked through the constitutional amendment,” he said.

According to JI emir, PTI made the passage of amendment doubtful.

“PTI first gave the names for the parliamentary committee and then decided not to participate in the meeting,” said Hafiz Naeem.

The JI emir also urged the government to release the political prisoners to send a positive message.

Earlier in the day, a petition challenging the 26th amendment was filed in the Supreme Court by Afrasiab Khattak.
