ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has sent the application pertaining to restoration of terminated employees case to the constitutional benches after the recently passed 26th constitutional amendment.
A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, heard the case on Wednesday.
Applicants' lawyer Waseem Sajjad stated that every citizen had a constitutional right to live a peaceful life.
Justice Mansoor remarked that a constitutional question was raised in this case therefore, constitutional benches would be formed to hear and decide the constitutional cases in the wake of enactment of 26th amendment.
Justice Ayesha also remarked that a constitutional bench would proceed the case.
The apex court mentioned that constitutional benches would hear the constitutional cases after the 26th amendment and applications were being sent to benches. Seven employees of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources moved the SC against a high court decision.
