(Web Desk) - The internet spares nobody when it comes to common mistakes, especially when celebrities make them.
For instance: the one-time Alia Bhatt dared to answer a current affairs question wrong on Karan Johar’s chat show.
Now, Kiara Advani, whose original name is Alia, which she changed after her acting debut, is being trolled for an old interview from 2019, where she fumbled naming South Indian states and languages.
In 2019, while promoting their Telugu action film Vinaya Vidheya Rama, Advani and Ram Charan appeared on Rana Daggubati’s talk show.
During their chat, Rana asked Advani if she knew the states and languages of the South. After some help from Charan, she confidently said Telangana and Karnataka but had difficulty saying ‘Andhra Pradesh’. Rana gave her a hint to guess Tamil Nadu and asked her from which state is the language Malayalam, but she couldn’t answer that.
Kiara is being trolled for that now, as many are comparing her to Alia Bhatt, who also couldn’t answer a current affairs question.
On a Reddit thread, a social media user said, “She is showing off her low IQ. Being an Indian and not knowing our own states and their languages is shameful. Kiara, it doesn’t look cute. You look dumb and stupid here!,” while another netizen claimed, “Her original name was Alia, what do you expect?”
Kiara Advani got married to Sidharth Malhotra on February 7, 2023. They first worked together in the Karan Johar-backed film Shershaah, a biopic of Indian Army officer Vikram Batra, who died in the line of duty in the Kargil War. Advani will reunite with Charan next year in the much-awaited Telugu political action-drama Game Changer.
