New Zealand lift maiden Women's T20 World Cup after beating South Africa

The White Ferns won title for first time

DUBAI (Dunya News) – New Zealand have defeated South Africa by 32 runs in the final of the ICC Women T20 World Cup to win the title for the first time.

While chasing 159 runs set by the White Ferns, the South African team only managed to score 126 runs.

Laura Wolvaardt with 33 runs and Tazmin Brits with 17 runs supported their side but it was just not enough.

From the White Ferns, Amelia Kerr and Rosemary Mair took three wickets each to help their side crown the title for the first time.

Earlier, the New Zealand side were all out for 158 runs. Amelia Kerr, again, was equally good with bat as she scored 43 runs to help her side put up a good score.

Brooke Halliday and Suzei Bates made 38 runs and 32 runs respectively.
