Various bills to be presented in National Assembly, Senate today

Notably, there is no constitutional amendment bill included in the agenda

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Senate and National Assembly sessions will be held today (Thrusday) to discuss various bills.

The Senate meeting is set for 3 PM, with a 14-point agenda released.

Notably, there is no constitutional amendment bill included.

Committee reports and several bills will be presented for approval, and a supplementary agenda may be added if there is consensus on the proposed constitutional amendment draft.

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SESSION AGENDA

Meanwhile, the National Assembly session, chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, will commence at 4 PM.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar would present a bill on the implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons.

The bill for amendment on the National Commission on Status of Women Act would be presented by the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.

The Federal Minister for Housing and Works will table the bill on the establishment of Pakistan Infrastructure Development and Waste Management Authority.

The Cabinet Division will present a report on implementation of federal policy by 2020-21.

A calling attention notice on provision of non-standard education in Islamabad would be tabled in today's National Assembly session. A calling attention notice on surge in diabetic patients across the country would be presented as well.  

On the other hand, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has devised a strategy for the parliamentary sessions.

Sources indicated that not all PTI members will attend but only a few central leaders are expected to appear in the Parliament.

PTI has instructed its members to avoid public appearances and not to participate in the Senate and National Assembly sessions.
