ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - India has recognised Pakistan for successfully hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar congratulated Pakistan during his address at the SCO meeting. He stated that India provided its full support to make the presidency a success.
He noted that the summit comes at a time when global conditions are complex, with ongoing major wars impacting the world significantly.
Jaishankar emphasised that the COVID-19 pandemic devastated developing countries, while climate change has adversely affected economies.
He pointed out that the burden of debt posed a serious challenge to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Furthermore, Jaishankar referred to the SCO Charter’s Article 1 that stressed on strengthening mutual trust, promoting friendship, and acting as good neighbors.
He stressed the need for an honest dialogue by saying “If there is a lack of trust and cooperation, it is essential to address those issues.”
