ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang on Tuesday called on National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
The duo discussed enhanced coordination between Pakistan’s National Assembly and Chinese Parliament as well as widening of trade ties between both countries.
Both leaders agreed on joint efforts for regional peace and security while stressing the importance of joint ventures in the energy sector.
Speaking on the occasion, the NA speaker said that hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit was a great honour for Pakistan which, he said, would highlight positive image of Pakistan in front of the whole world.
“We will work for regional development through the SCO. The projects under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) are of supreme importance to both countries,” he pointed out.
Drawing the visiting dignitary’s attention to the vast investment opportunities in the country, Sadiq underscored the need to enhance cooperation in the fields of education and science.
“China is a strategic partner of Pakistan. In future, the parliamentary delegations will visit each other to foster strategic ties,” he reiterated.
