PTI 'calls off' Islamabad protest after govt approves Imran Khan's medical checkup

The government is ready for PTI founder Imran Khan's medical examination

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has postponed today’s (Oct 15) protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad.

According to sources, the decision to postpone the protest was made during a meeting of PTI's political committee, where the majority suggested calling off the protest. The decision was made in the broader national interest, considering the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

Reliable sources stated that PTI's senior leadership will officially announce the postponement shortly.

Earlier, PTI had announced a protest at D-Chowk on October 15, coinciding with the SCO summit. PTI had set a condition that if its founder was allowed a meeting, the protest would be canceled.

Before this, the government agreed to PTI's condition to postpone the protest. The government is ready for PTI founder Imran Khan's medical examination, and doctors will examine him today at Adiala Jail.

Sources revealed that doctors from PIMS hospital will conduct the medical examination. Additionally, the government has allowed Imran Khan's personal doctor to meet and examine him as well.
