Dunya Media Group Chairman Mian Amer receives FPCCI award

President Zardari confers excellence awards among the businessmen

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Dunya Media Group and Punjab Group of Colleges Chairman Mian Amer Mahmood received the prestigious award at the 12th Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Excellence Awards ceremony. 

The ceremony was attended by members of the business community, and senior government officials at Aiwan-e-Sadr. 

President Asif Ali Zardari was the chief guest. 

Former caretaker minister Gohar Ejaz, FPCCI president Atif Ikram Sheikh and renowned personalities from various fields of life were also present. 

In education category, the Punjab Group of Colleges was awarded ‘Best Educational Network’ award in the country. 

President Asif Ali Zardari presented the award to Punjab Group of Colleges Chairman Mian Amer Mahmood. 

Lake City was given the the award for Best Real Estate Project in the country which was received by its CEO Sultan Gohar. 

Fatima Fertilizer received an award for its products that enhanced agricultural output, presented to CEO Ali Mukhtar. 

The Legend of the Business Community award was given to S.M. Muneer, with his brother S.M. Parvez and son S.M. Tanveer accepting on his behalf. 

A news channel was honoured with the Excellence Award, received by Managing Director Azhar Abbas. 

The Best Hospital of the Year award went to Aga Khan University Hospital, accepted by CEO Syed Farhat Abbas Naqvi. 

For glass manufacturing, Ghani Glass CEO Anwar Ghani received the Best Company of the Year award. 

HBL's CEO Muhammad Nasir Saleem received the Best Bank of the Year award, while the Best Emerging Fashion Designer award was given to Safeena Yahya. 

Another award of The Legend of Business was presented to Taimur Malik, son of renowned Lahore business figure Malik Iftikhar. 

Sheikh Riaz, who has served the business community in Sialkot for 40 years, also received the Legend of Business Community award, which was accepted by his family. 

The president said on the occasion that steps would be taken to provide cost-effective electricity, land and other facilities to help promote trade and industry. 

Gohar Ejaz, meanwhile, said Pakistan had started its journey of progress and its economy had been showing the positive signs lately.
