Aleema, Uzma Khan's remand extended by two days

Judge Abdul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain heard the case

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad extended the physical remand of PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan by two more days.

Judge Abdul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain heard the terrorism case registered at the Kohsar Police Station.

The police presented Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan before the court after completing their one-day physical remand, requesting an additional 10-day remand. They claimed that the sisters incited workers who attacked the police, resulting in around 30 officers being injured.

The prosecutor argued that it was all part of a conspiracy and further investigation was needed, as a megaphone had been recovered from the accused.

The PTI lawyers requested the discharge of Aleema and Uzma Khan, stating that the case was not about recovery but illegal detention. The women had been recovered from the police station through a court bailiff and had no weapons, with video evidence available.

Later, the judge reserved the decision and, after a brief period, announced the extension of their physical remand by two more days.
