Shan Masood takes 1,524 days, 28 Test innings to score fifth ton

Shan scored his century in 102 balls.

MULTAN (Dunya News) - Shan Masood has finally scored a century after 1,524 days and 28 innings. 

Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique have completed a 100-run partnership in the first innings of the opening Test Match in Multan. 

Pakistan have recovered after an early wicket of Saim Ayub, who got out to Gus Atkinson after scoring 4 runs. 

Pakistan have scored 122 for the loss of 1 wicket at the end of the first session. 

Saim Ayub was caught behind while trying to tickle the ball down the leg side. 

Shan Masood scored a half century in only 43 balls. 

Pakistan captain Shan Masood won the toss and elected to bat first in the opening Test against England on a sunny morning in Multan.

The trophy for the Test series was unveiled, and players from both teams participated in a photo shoot with it.

The national team for the first Test against England was announced on Sunday, while England announced their playing XI on Saturday.

Captain Shan Masood expressed determination to win the Test match against England, noting that Aamer Jamal's inclusion had strengthened the team.

England’s captain, Ollie Pope, stated that their aim was to win the Test series against Pakistan and that they would select bowlers based on the conditions.

Pakistan XI:

Shan Masood, Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Saud Shakeel, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Aamer Jamal, and Salman Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed. 

The second Test would also be held in Multan, beginning on October 15, while the third Test is scheduled for October 24 in Rawalpindi.
