Islamabad IG expresses grief over martyrdom of police officer

Stresses police will lodge FIR and bring predators to justice

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, expressed deep sorrow over martyrdom of police officer, Hameed Shah, who succumbed to injuries sustained during clashes with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters.

In a press conference, IG Rizvi stated that the Islamabad police had ‘lost a son’ as Shah was killed during the unrest at Chungi No. 26.

According to IG Rizvi, Hameed Shah was subjected to sever stone pelting and physical assault, leading to his death.

He stressed that the police would lodge FIR and bring the predators to justice.

He said the protesters led by the KP CM damaged to public property, including the safe city cameras and police motorcycles.

Over 878 individuals, including Afghan nationals, were arrested during the demonstrations, he concluded.
