Federal govt imposes ban on PTM

The move was taken under Section 11 of the 1997 Anti-Terrorism Act

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government on Sunday imposed a ban on the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM).

It was mentioned in the released notification that the PTM was involved in spreading anti-state narrative and anarchy in the country. The decision had been taken on the basis of plausible evidence.

According to the interior ministry press release, it was adopted that the PTM was a danger for peace and security in the country. The ban was imposed as per Section 11 of the 1997 Anti-terrorism Act.

It merits mention that a few days back, PTM head Manzoor Pashteen met KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur and invited him to attend the Pashtun Qomi Adalat.
