LHC set to hear pleas against 2014 PTI protests after 10 years

The court would hear petitions against PTI's 2014 sit-in on Oct 10

LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) - The Lahore High Court has fixed the petitions against the 2014 sit-ins by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for hearing after 10 years.

It should be noted that LHC Chief Justice Aaliya Neelum has been taking practical steps to not only ensure timely justice but also focusing on the settling old cases.

A three-member bench, headed by CJ and comprising Justice Farooq Haider and Justice Tariq Nadeem, will hear the case on Oct 10.

It merits mention here that in 2014, A K Dogar filed a plea that Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri started the protests against the PML-N government from Lahore despite court’s order to the contrary.

The petitioner said both leaders committed contempt of court and were therefore liable to be proceeded against by the court.
