ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari raised the question of why the judiciary should be exempt from the same power redistribution as presidential power was shifted to the prime minister.
His remarks came during a meeting with the representatvies of Supreme Court Press Association at Zardari House on Wednesday. The judicial reforms and the role of the Constitutional Court were discussed in the session.
Addressing the media, Bilawal Bhutto highlighted that, under the former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, the judiciary was "a government above the government." He further commented on how the Senate had been above the National Assembly. He urged politicians to return to their political duties instead of engaging in power battles.
Bilawal also highlighted the increasing political polarization, criticising the idea that only Imran Khan's supporters were considered honest. He questioned whether coercing the business community to contribute to the dam fund wasn't an obvious abuse of power.

The PPP chairman called for an end to the ongoing political games revolving around who becomes the next prime minister or the chief.
