MUMBAI (Dunya News) – Bollywood superstar Govinda Arun Ahuja, who is commonly known as Govinda, accidentally shot himself with a revolver and was hospitalised on Tuesday.
The 60-year-old actor, according to Indian media, was injured at his Juhu residence in Mumbai around 4:45am.
Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha said the actor, who also has political associations, shot himself in the leg while preparing to leave for a show in Kolkata.
The mishap occurred early in the morning as Govinda was about to head to the airport for a 6am flight. The actor was immediately taken to hospital where he is currently getting treatment.
Manager Sinha added that the Hero No 1 actor was injured when a licensed revolver accidentally fell and fired while being placed in a cupboard. Fortunately, the injury was not serious.
However, after a brief operation, the bullet was removed from Govinda’s leg and he is expected to make a full recovery, as per Sinha.
