110 more dengue cases reported in Punjab

92 cases had been reported from Rawalpindi, four from Attock, three from Lahore.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – As many as 110 dengue cases have been reported in several cities of Punjab.

The cases have been reported in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Jhelum and other cities.

A health department spokesperson said 92 cases had been reported from Rawalpindi, four from Attock, three from Lahore and two cases each from Jhelum, Jhang and Sheikhupura.

Last week 671 cases were reported throughout the province. The number has surged to 1,843 this year.

The spokesperson said the health department was fully prepared to combat the dengue infection and prevent casualties.

“The public hospitals are well equipped. The stock of the medicine to treat the infection is abundantly available,” officials claim.

Earlier, the Punjab health department issued an advisory for the citizens to cooperate with health teams who are actively working to control the spread of infection.

The department also emphasised the need for vigilance and proactive measures to eradicate the development of dengue larva.

A free helpline 1033 has also been provided for those seeking treatment.
