RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Former prime minister and chief of Awam Pakistan Party Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the parliament if full of unelected people.
He was addressing a political gathering on Monday.
“It is the most challenging task for a political worker to leave his party,” said Abbasi, who was once a close confidant of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.
He said that the slogan of ‘Respect for Vote’ was only for the supremacy of the constitution but it wasn’t followed unfortunately.
“The whole cabinet kept sitting in the National Assembly and Senate for the passage of constitutional amendment but no one actually witnessed its draft,” the veteran politician said.

Abbasi criticised the government’s attempt to pass the amendments in the darkness of night.
He said that most of the MPs reached parliament through a stolen mandate in last elections.
He questioned whether such individuals have the right to amend the constitution or rule the country.
