LHC orders to impose fine on throwing garbage on roads

Selling dead chicken meat is a legal offence.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Lahore High Court has ordered for enforcement of fine against those throwing garbage on roads.

LHC Justice Shahid Karim heard the applications for smog mitigation.

The Judicial Water Commission informed the court that dead chicken meat was being sold in Tollinton Market and action against those involved in this crime was needed.

The LDA lawyer stated that they conducted operation in Tollinton Market yesterday and on-boarding of Tollinton Market Association was desired. Selling dead chicken meat was a legal offence.

Justice Karim remarked that some restaurants were selling their water and its sale shouldn’t be allowed if it didn't comply with Pakistani standards.

Relevant authorities must take this matter under consideration, the court observed.

Justice Karim remarked that extreme temperature in September was quite concerning as it’s a result of climate change.

LHC stated that half of the pollution would be reduced if lanes on roads were followed. The court has ordered a fine on throwing garbage on roads and not following lane traffic rules.
