ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Secretary for Education and Professional Training Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani has declared the rumors of excluding Urdu subjects at graduation level baseless.
Education secretary stated that the Urdu subject wasn’t being ruled out from graduation and Higher Education had also negated the claims.
However, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) had been directed to issue its statement on the matter.
HEC Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad asserted that Urdu had always been a compulsory subject till intermediate level.
However, Urdu had always been an elective subject at graduation level and would remain so.
Dr Mukhtar announced to issue a statement on the matter of Urdu subject soon.
