Hybrid double-decker bus service launched in Punjab for first time

Three buses will be run in Lahore while one each in Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz has formally inaugurated the five new double-decker buses for eco-friendly tourism for the first time in Pakistan.

Punjab CM examined the buses and also took a ride on the bus. She was briefed about the double decker buses.

Three hybrid double-decker buses to be run in new routes of Lahore for tourism. While, one double-decker bus each to be added for Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi.

The hybrid double-decker bus service will also be launched in Multan and Faisalabad.

Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz emphsised to provide eco-friendly, innovative buses for metropolitan tourism across Punjab.

It was told in the briefing that double-decker bus service was launched in Lahore in 2015 during former Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif government.

Diplomats, state guests, people from the corporate sector, sacademiashowbiz and public used to visit public tourist places riding on these buses.

Senator Pervez Rasheed, senior provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azma Bokhari, Special Assistant Rashid Nasrullah, MPA Sania Ashiq and chief secretary were also present in this inauguration ceremony.
