SEC fine brings yet another trouble in way of Shakib Al Hassan

SEC has imposed a fine of 5 million taka on Shakib for manipulating stock prices.

DHAKA (Web Desk) - Bangladeshi all-rounder and former captain Shakib Al Hasan has landed in a new legal trouble as he is already implicated in a murder case.

According to media reports, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has imposed a fine of 5 million taka on Shakib for manipulating stock prices.

The commission stated that Shakib violated the Securities Act through his actions that has prompted this penalty.

It is noteworthy that Shakib Al Hasan had previously served as a member of parliament under Sheikh Hasina's government and contested elections on the Awami League ticket.

Additionally, on August 23, Shakib was accused of the murder of a garment factory worker in Dhaka, with the victim's father filing a murder case against him at the local police station.
