PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser Barrister Saif said on Wednesday that holding talks with the government over much-touted ‘Constitutional Package’was tantamount to accepting the Feb 8 election.
In a statement, Saif urged the opposition parties not to come under any pressure exerted by the government and asked them to stand with the people, adding that the apex court had already termed the last election controversial.
“The opposition’s stance on the Form-47 government has been very clear as it deems it unelected. The dialogue over constitutional amendments is an attempt to legitimise this unconstitutional and illegal government,” he pointed out.
He said the current parliament was incomplete and unconstitutional, adding that the parliament doesn’t have the right of doing any legislation so it couldn’t bring constitutional amendment.
