LAHORE (Dunya News) – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Deputy Emir Liaquat Baloch has warned the government that evading the protest agreement would be costly for them. He emphasised that the government must implement the terms of the protest agreement.
In a statement, Baloch criticised the controversial role of IPPs contracts. He clarified that the JI did not end the protest but merely postponed it.
He further remarked that the populist politics of leaders like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif, and Imran Khan has led to toxic polarisation in the country, making political parties easy targets for the establishment due to their disunity.
Baloch condemned the government's obstructive measures against public gatherings, describing them as authoritarian.
He also raised concerns over the escalating issue of missing persons across the country.
