UHS holds MDCAT test across the country amid tight security measures

Section 144 has been imposed during the examination process

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The University of Health Sciences is holding the written examination for admission to medical and dental colleges today.

Thousands of candidates were participating at 26 examination centers established in 12 cities across Punjab.

Mobile and internet services would be suspended within a 500-meter radius of the examination centers in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujrat, and Rahim Yar Khan until the exam concludes.

According to the PMDC president, Section 144 has been imposed during the examination process, and violators would face action. Advanced surveillance technology would be used to monitor the examination centers. Candidates were advised to avoid unethical behavior, as strict penalties would be enforced for cheating.

He further stated that a total of 58,380 students were registered for the MDCAT exam in Punjab, 38,678 from Sindh, 42,329 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5,806 from Balochistan, 18,408 from Islamabad, 3,145 from Azad Kashmir, and 739 from Gilgit-Baltistan. Additionally, 259 international students would also take part in the MDCAT.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz extended her best wishes to the MDCAT candidates, saying, "My prayers are with you, dear children. Hard work never goes in vain, and you will succeed, InshaAllah."

She directed to ensure best possible arrangements at examination centers and ordered stringent security measures to prevent any difficulties for the candidates during the exam.
