LAHORE (Dunya News) - A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court on Friday for the recovery of Javed Iqbal, PTI activist Sanam Javed’s father.
Barrister Khadija filed the plea on the behalf of Sanam Javed’s mother. Punjab IG and federal government made parties in the case.
It was adopted that almost 20 police personnel had raided the residence of Sanam Javed yesterday in which her father was arrested.
It was plead that the father of the PTI worker be produced before the court.
Sources said the arrest was part of a broader operation by Lahore's police, targeting individuals linked to the unrest of May 9, which saw significant damage and clashes during political turmoil.
The police have been directed to focus on apprehending the remaining suspects as the rally approaches.
Heavy police presence was reported at the residence of Javed Iqbal, Sanam Javed's father, in Wahdat Colony, where he was taken into custody and moved to an undisclosed location.
