ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) –Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira on Thursday said that his party is not against creation of new provinces in the country.
This he stated while talking in Dunya News programme “Dunya Meher Bokhari Kay Sath”. Qamar Zaman Kaira said that no political party was able to get a clear majority in February 8, 2024 elections.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the formation of new provinces was not an issue of Punjab and Sindh.
He said that the PPP is of the view that new province should not be created in Sindh as the people of the Sindh are not demanding a new province whereas the people of South Punjab are demanding a separate province.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said that political parties do not transfer powers to the lower level after coming into power. He said that empowering local governments will strengthen the democracy in Pakistan.
