(Web Desk) - Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain has said industrial estates are being shifted to solar energy to reduce burden of heavy electricity bills; for the first time in the history of the country, a Chinese company is setting up an assembling plant for solar panels in Punjab.
The minister inaugurated a trauma centre at Sunder Industrial Estate. After the inauguration, he inspected various departments of the trauma centre and reviewed the medical facilities provided here.
The facility of treatment and medicines will be free for the workers in the trauma center. The minister announced the construction of a 100-bed social security hospital in Sunder Industrial Estate.
Addressing the industrialists, he said every sector including the industry is being affected by the expensive electricity.
The Garment City to be built in Sheikhupura will be on solar energy. Stitching classes have started at Tevta newly built college in Garment City, the minister said and added that the financial and performance audit of Tevta is being conducted.
Shafay said that the future of Pakistan is linked to quality technical education.
Practical steps have been taken to promote quality technical education and prepare skilled manpower.
Job placement is also being arranged for the youth after completion of the courses, he said.
He added that this is not the time for talking but for practical steps. The government has taken practical steps to improve the quality of technical education.
