Rapid renovations underway at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium

The central building would be demolished to make way for a new basement and water tank

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The demolition of enclosures at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is progressing rapidly as part of a major renovation project.

In preparation for the Champions Trophy, upgrade work has begun at three venues, including Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

According to the plan, Gaddafi Stadium would see the most extensive construction work, with a budget of 7.7 billion rupees allocated for the project.

The central building would be demolished to make way for a new basement and water tank, with this phase expected to be completed by September 30.

Subsequent work would involve completing one floor each month, with a goal to have the building structure finished by December 31.

The project also includes the completion of pavilions to enhance the spectator experience and the modernisation of the ground's drainage system.

Additionally, digital screens would be installed, and floodlights would be upgraded to modern LED lighting.
