LAHORE (Dunya News) – Wahab Riaz has rubbished the allegations of putting pressure on the selection committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for picking favourite players.
The former pacer shared his response on social media after he came under fire following his removal from the selection committee.
Taking to X, he wrote: “I don’t agree with the statements being discussed about adding pressure to the members of the selection committee, how can 1 vote dominate 6?”
He said everything is documented on record in the meeting minutes.
Earlier in the day, PCB removed Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq from the selection committee in the wake of dismal performance of the national cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2024.
More changes are expected as Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had hinted at "major surgery" in cricket structure after Pakistan cricket team fell short of promising performance in T20 international campaign.
Muhammad Yousuf, Asad Shafiq and Bilal will remain the part of the committee.
