LAHORE (Dunya News) – Almost a month after underscoring the need for a “major surgery” to rid the cricket team of ills, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is undertaking meetings to draw up a plan.
Naqvi has met head coach Gary Kirsten and Azhar Mahmood in Lahore. Another round of meetings is expected to take place today (Tuesday).
The PCB chief also met several former players and discussed a slew of suggestions to fix the problems afflicting the team.
Former cricketers Intikhab Alam, Iqbal Qasim, Haroon Rasheed, Salim Altaf, Sikandar Bakht, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shafqat Rana, Rashid Khan and Wajahatullah Wasti criticised the selection of the national squad.
They underscored the need to promote U-19 and domestic cricket.
Earlier, Gary Kirsten and Wahab Riaz submitted reports to the PCB chief after Pakistan’s dismal performance in the T20 World Cup.
