LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi filed an application with the anti-corruption court on Monday requesting exemption from appearance in a case related to illegal recruitments in the Punjab Assembly.
Judge Safdar Ali Bhatti of the anti-corruption court, who presided over the hearing, learned that Parvez Elahi could not attend the proceedings due to infirmity and illness.
Appearing before the judge, a counsel for the PTI leader filed a request for his absence from the hearing, citing his health condition.
Through the application, Elahi informed the court that his physician had advised bed rest as he had turned quite weak and infirm after remaining jailed for a long time.
He requested the court to approve his application for exemption from physical appearance.
The court had summoned Parvez Elahi and other accused today for indictment in the Punjab Assembly illegal recruitment case.
