Pakistan Awami Tehreek's senior counsel summoned in Model Town tragedy case

Court has summoned the witnesses by July 6

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore’s anti-terrorism court (ATC) has summoned Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s senior counsel Makhdoom Majeed Shah for cross-examination in the Model Town tragedy prosecution case.

ATC special court’s judge Arshad Javed heard the Model Town tragedy prosecution case today and summoned six more witnesses in the case until July 6.

The court has summoned DSP Rana Mehmoodul Hassan, constable Faisal Rasheed and constable Amir Hassan.

It is pertinent to note that a total of 98 witnesses' statements have been recorded in the Model Town tragedy case.

A total of 124 accused have been nominated in the Model Town tragedy prosecution case.

Former SP Umar Virk, former DSP Khalid Abu Bakar, former DSP Mian Shafqat, former inspector Basheer Niazi have filed petitions for acquittal.

Former Punjab IG Mushtaq Sukhaira, DIG operations Rana Abdul Jabbat and five accused have already been acquitted in the case.
