Nabeel Zafar opens up about screening Indian films in Pakistan

He wants equality in relations with India in showbiz

(Web Desk) – Actor Nabeel Zafar has opened up about featuring Indian films in Pakistan.

He said: “Cinema owners want to show Indian films for business, but I am against the screening of Indian content in our country.

“I am not opposed to Indian films or dramas, but my belief is that when India does not like to buy our content, why should we show their films in our cinemas”?

Shedding light on lack of proportion and disparity, Nabeel continued: “India has a population of 1.5 billion, while ours is just 250 million.

“At the very least, they should buy our content proportionally.

“We have seen how our actors had to leave India and return to Pakistan.

“We are much better than India in this regard.

“If Indian films are to be shown in Pakistani cinemas, then Indian cinemas should also screen Pakistani films, whether they are hits or flops.”

Nabeel Zafar added that India apparently does not buy Pakistani dramas.

He explained: “Pakistanis are the people with big hearts, we are hospitable, our shopkeepers don’t charge them when they visit Pakistan and you all have witnessed how our actors literally ran from India.

“We never did that, we know where we are good at.

“We should run their movies but then my condition is the same, they should also play our movies in their cinemas, even if they flop.

“They don’t even buy our dramas, I know they started a channel Zee Zindagi which was also closed.

“They have a good market but we also have talent and I admit that corruption ruined us. It is our big dilemma.”

On the work front, Nabeel Zafar was last seen in Sar-e-Rah (2023), where he played Shabbir Ahmed.
