Punjab govt servants to get up to 25pc spike in salaries

The Punjab government will follow in the footsteps of the federal government

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has announced 20 to 25 percent increase in the salaries of provincial employees and 15pc raise in pensions.

The announcement was made by Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shjuaur Rehman while presenting the budget for next fiscal year 2024-25.

He said the government employees in grade 1 to 16 will get increase of 25 per cent in salaries, while provincial employees in grade 17 to 22 will be given increase of 20 per cent.

Meanwhile, the minimum wage in the province is proposed to be increased from Rs32,000 to Rs37,000 per month.

Last year, the interim government led by Mohsin Naqvi had increased salaries by 30pc and pensions for people above 80 years by 20pc.
